Quality photos, Shallow content

I was under the impression that this book would cover a larger portion of the Orient. Thailand, Korea and Japan are not included at all, it solely focuses on the work of Chinese artists. Additionally, there is no text at all to give insight into the themes or styles your are seeing in the book. I thought something called a "Sourcebook" would have explanations of cultural themes and design. While that is disappointing, as other reviews have mentioned the quality is very good, both in photo content and physical construction. I considered returning it because of my misunderstanding, but after flipping through it I decided it is worth keeping as a coffee table book.

Should be back in print

This book is great for parents and kids alike, it allows for time well spent together while teaching children how to read recipes, and measure amounts. My mom got this for me and I always used it to cook with her making my own recipe to contribute to dinner for the family even if mainly just snacks and finger food. Creative but unpolished

This is a quick and entertaining read with lots of typos and grammar errors. It reads a bit like a fairy tale where everything gets neatly wrapped up so the main characters can live happily ever after. The author has clever creative ideas but needs a copy editor to clean up the finished edition.

I read the first and thought it warranted reading the second installment. The romance is overly cute and tedious. Too many quirks, the hermaphrodite, the neurologically damaged rescue cat, etc. It is not unique to this book but I am getting tired of the super-hacker buddy who gets into all files easily. It's getting to be the deux ex machina of mystery and thriller novels.

Really enjoyed the first book, this one not so much.

I really enjoyed the first book, so I jumped right into the second book which really is a clear continuation.

The story itself was fine. I got into this series because it was advertised as a Mystery Thriller. There was way too much content focused on the developing love between Sam and Indy.

Way too much. It's like the author needed to fill in space after the story was written so he went back and detailed puppy love as a filler. If the trend continues in book three, I promise you I won't finish it.

I do like Mr. Archer's writing style, the books are easy to read,and so far the stories have been well thought out and believable.

That's important to me.

Fascinating book...stunning information

Finally!! Some clarity is brought to the mystery of the return date for Nibiru. I loved this book as I have read many books on the return of Nibiru and this one is the most rational and thoughtful. Mr. Roest has done his research and gives the reader historical, astronomical and solid scientific evidence which reveals the returning cycles of Nibiru as it passes close to our planet earth. He pulls on many ancient texts, pictures and geological evidence for the dates of the cycles and the mystery of Nibiru is revealed. This is a book written for the lay person and I found it extremely interesting and informative. He is writing his next book now "The Unbelieving Bible" which should be out this year. I will be first in line for that one! Don't pass this one up....

Lovely, poetic, and sexy

I rarely learn new words when reading; I already know more of them than I allow myself to use. But Mak Long taught me QUITE a few! I don't always like that, but Mak did it well. She's virtually a poet in the first third of the book. Her full-sensory descriptions were impressively on the mark throughout. I think some readers will find her vocabulary a challenge and enjoy that challenge less than I did ... but nonetheless ... well done!
The book is too short to be a book, too long to be a chapter, and it's a story fragment, not a story complete -- but I loved the journey, the power and strength of women in this budding world, the relationship between Basti & Irhal, the love-making, all the delicious details odors and colors and sensations ... all of it! I only hope that there's more to come as part of a longer story arc.

Beautiful, poetic storytelling

Beautiful, poetic storytelling. I am glad I read this on my kindle because the author's vocabulary is expansive. I enjoyed the story. Although, its a short story it will take you a little longer than usual to complete because you find yourself looking up the meaning of certain words. I found it refreshing to actually increase my vocabulary while reading fantasy lesfic.
