fast paced, easy reding

Needs a serious edit.

Poor grammar and sentence structure and an apparent unwillingness to use commas didn't help the readability of this novella at all.  I lost patience and gave up at the halfway point. 

By this stage I should have been able to work out the basics of what was going on and who all the characters were and which side, either good or bad, they were on. Don't have a clue. 

Definitely one for the DNF pile.  Can't recommend it either.

You'll be hooked

Be prepared to be hooked on this series. Very well written and action packed. This book's main character is a 17 year old high school student who's life has been turned upside down and is not only thrown into a war but is the expected hero....no pressure.
Even as an adult I have really enjoyed this book. Definitely worth 5 stars.
I read on this author's blog that when the forth book, now in editing is released the first three will no longer free but $2.99.
Are they worth it? Yes. Will I buy the upcoming books? Yes.

It's OK

I'm a huge fan of Kathy's. I think her stand-up is hilarious. She has some priceless bits, like her recollection of Brooke Shield's wedding. I stayed up all night reading this book.

Some of her revelations are entertaining and juicy, like how Tupac couldn't read, and John Hamm is a drunken lout. The biggest thing I didn't like is her celebrity worship. She gushes like a crazed fan about certain celebs as if she doesn't realize she's "one of them." She's surprised when a celeb recognizes her, but they'd have to be living under a rock to not know who she is. She's been on TV for decades, and she's known for skewering celebs. They all have to be aware of her, out of fear, if nothing else.

The book is about the “run-ins” that the comedian, actress, author and Grammy winner experienced first-hand, and you can safely vouch for its veracity. As the book’s title suggests, it is indexed painstakingly and methodically, and you have the option to pick and choose and select the entries in the book. Else, like reading any other normal book, you can start from the beginning and read it through to the end.

If you love or hate Kathy Griffin either as a person or entertainer or even writer, you’ll surely love this book which deals mostly with the relationships she had with other celebrities. Or if it can’t be called a relationship, at least it is her views about others, which may be a much more appropriate description. In the book, she talks about a lot of people ranging from Warren Beatty to Woody Allen to Barbra Streisand to Demi Lovato to Leonardo DiCaprio to Donald Trump, and to Ellen DeGeneres just to name a few. What I was looking for

A little background. I am taking an inverse problem graduate level course, which makes use of Gelfand-Levitan equations, Marchenko equations, etc. I had never studied integral equations, and I was looking to get an intuitive understanding of how to solve and approach the G-L and Marchenko equations. One of the main problems I was having was understanding the notation of the G-L equations. This book gave me a lot of the basics that I was missing in how to solve Fredholm and Volterra equations and also where some of the more advanced theory came from. So, I would recommend this book as a great introduction to integral equations, as the name suggests.

For a more theoretical approach, I would first go through Abdul Jerri's book on integral equations, and then, if you want to learn some applications or more theory, I would recommend books by Chadan, Sabatier, Marchenko, etc.

A really wonderful book !

This was almost my first book which I had read about integral equations. The real advantage of it is that this book is not an abstract one, but really teaches you several practical equation solving methods and contains lots of examples and exercises with the answers provided at the end of the book. Simply great !

tediously dull writing and uninteresting layout

A required textbook for my kid's college class. I have an MBA and am usually interested in anything having to do with business. I thumbed through this very expensive book and gratefully closed it after slogging through a few numbing pages. If you're a business teacher thinking about using it for a class, do the world a favor, put your copy out of its misery and send it to goodwills.

I purchased this book for my masters program in HRM for an employee relations class. So far, it is one of the most interesting books i have read. Very easy to read and very fluid. I still refer back to this book in my other HR classes as this book containis a wide range of topics.

nice to have

UPDATE Oct 2013: Man I just didn't realize how much information would be missing since this doesn't cover the diesels. I'm just trying to locate information for typical service. No such luck if you've the diesel. I knew this, but realizing it is worse than I thought it'd be.

Original REVIEW: I prefer Haynes over Chiltons because they talk to me like I'm an idiot. I prefer Chiltons over Haynes because they don't treat me like I'm an idiot. Huh?

Chiltons is geared towards the pro. Haynes towards the novice. Or, like me, the reluctant backyard mechanic. I don't really enjoy working on cars anymore. Haynes will give alot of useless information, but there's alot of important details in there too. Sure you could just look it up on line and I usually do. But when you're right there under the hood you can have the book open next to you. For about $18, yea, I'll do that. I especially like the torque numbers they list. Awesome for a guy that likes to snap bolts.

As for Chiltons, a bit over my head. Haynes is a bit under my head. But since cars are no longer designed with the backyard mechanic in mind I figure that if Haynes doesn't cover it then I probably shouldn't be doing it (based upon my abilities).

I suggest for anyone that does anything more than oil and lube to pick up a Haynes for any vehicles say 4 or more years old. If you're without a laptop you can place outside then you'll be glad you've got the info right there with you when you need to work on it.

OK for the price, leaves out some needed info for serious repairs, mostly the same exact pics as the Chilton version model 28625 but the chilton has more info and about 20+ more pages for the same price so if your choosing between the two don't waste the money for the haynes.

It was not the Book I ordered. Very disapointed.

The ad said it covered my 2003 Chevy Avalanche truck. When it arrived it didn't cover my truck model or year, it was for earlier Chevy trucks. I contacted the seller and told him it was not what he advertised, and I wanted to return it and get the right manual. He told me to keep it because he didn't have the correct manual. He did refund my money, but that is not the point, it didn't meet my needs and it's was false advertising.
