About the Author

Rose Gonnella is the Executive Director of the Robert Busch School of Design at Kean University in Union County and Ocean County, New Jersey, and Wenzhou-Kean University, China (2015). Gonnella has taught graphic design for over 25 years including courses in design theory and materials and techniques. She currently serves on the executive board of the Art Directors Club of New Jersey (ADCNJ); is the Director of the Kean University/ADCNJ "Thinking Creatively" design conference; and she also directs and guides Kean Cre8tive, the RB/School of Design in-house graphic design studio.  

 

Christopher J. Navetta’s diverse career boasts an eclectic group of clients and employers that includes Wendy’s, Kay-Bee Toys, Natural Wonders, Jersey City Public Schools, Thomson Delmar Learning (now Cengage), PFLAG, Prentice Hall, Six Flags, the Mall of America, and Nickelodeon. He is the co-author and designer of Comp It Up: A Studio Skills Foundation, and a contributing writer, designer, researcher, and photographer for Design To Touch: Engraving History, Process, Concepts, and Creativity. He currently teaches design at Kean University, and has worked on developing curricula for undergraduate courses and a summer design program for high school students.

 

Max Friedman is an illustrator, designer, and filmmaker currently attending Kean University’s Robert Busch School of Design.

About the Author
Arnold Mindell, Ph.D., is the author of twenty books including Dreambody (Deep Democracy Exchange, 2011). We don't need 1 leader to solve all our problems. We need more leaders as martial artists - in every one of us! Thank you Arny Mindell for the attitude, for teaching the skills to be aware and to relate and supporting to remain humane to the self and the other in the midst of all hardships and violence and power-struggles in Ukraine and Russia, in the world.

Worth every dime!!! Anita Rui Olds has incredible insight into creating environments that are reflective of children and their interests. She believes that a child care setting should have "spirit." Included are Reggio-type environmental solutions that create a sense of wonder with an architecturally aesthetic sensibility. Lots of great ideas packed into this book. Only regret is that the pictures are too small and not in color. Would have been worth extra [$$] to have an expanded edition.

This must be the best book that exist about designing Child Care Center. It covers everything, but the most important is the focus the autor made on the children. This book is a must for every architect or people interested in design of this kind of buildings, specially if he/she is really interested in children well being.
The only but is that for the quality of its content, this book deserves a better paper and color pictures. (a 0 star here for MacGrow-Hill).
Probably this book is call to change the way a day care is seen today.

nice background info on characters

This book is mostly background information on the characters, Camelot, and magical creatures. I was hoping for more "magical" words (spells) and their meanings. There are a few but not very many. Lots of pictures.

Focuses on the Stars not the Settings

If you are hoping for a good set of pictures on the castle and furnishings
as we were you won't get much of that. If you are into a small number of
high quality closeups of each of the major cast members you will get that as they
have their own sections. Belonging to a number of reenactment groups over
thirty years where we have to make most of our own costumes and kit I was
rather hoping for more of that as the sets are really quite outstanding.

I love all things Merlin and this was nice, although geared for a younger person than my fifty something age. It was nice, though. I still would have bought it. And the ship time was great, too, coming from the UK in about a week or a bit more.

About the Author
Born and raised in New York City of Puerto Rican decent William J. Irizarry Jr. was introduced to the mysteries of Orisa by his first Padrino (Godfather) Cuban born and former Chef to Fidel Castro, Babalorisa Ramon Torres Olo Obatala Ibae. William grew up in the New York City Housing Projects where he spent the majority of his upbringing with childhood Friend/Cousin Alexander LaSalle founder and musical director of Alma Moyo, percussionists, singer, song writer and Bakonfula in the Palo Mayombe tradition. Alexander introduced William to the drum and music in general. They played for hours on end at all times of the day and night practicing Eggun and Orisha songs. It was William's passion for music that illuminated his path and fueled his desire in becoming an Aborisha. William was officially initiated into the Lukumi tradition at the age of fourteen when he received his Elekes/Collares (Beads), Orisa Olokun and Ibeji from Iyaloricha Maria Latimar Olo Yemaya of Bronx, New York. Less than one year later at the age of fifteen William received Awofaka (Mano de Orula) and Warriors (Orisha’s Eshu, Oggun, Ochosi and Osun) from Cuban Born Oluwo Moises Montesino OyekuPica of New York City. Three years later at the age of eighteen William traveled to Santos Suarez, Cuba where he was initiated in the mysteries of Orisha and Ifá. August 1998 William J. Irizarry Jr. became Oluwo Awo Ni Orunmila, Iwori Rote, Ifá Alá godson of Oluwo Alberto Ofun Nalbe and Ojubon Oretes Ogbe Bara a first generation Babalawo within his family. Three months later William received Kuanaldo and Osain. William has dedicated his life to the study of Orisha & Ifá teachings and picking up and mastering the art of traditional beading along the way. William credits his love of art and beadwork to attending a beading seminar by artist Manny Vega hosted by the Caribbean Cultural Center in New York City and his love of music to his childhood friend Alexander LaSalle. Presently William is under the expert tutelage of Olofista Emilio Ogbe Unle of Orlando, Florida where he continues his lifelong study of Orisha & Ifá teachings, passing his knowledge onto his godchildren as well as his love of art and music.

Excellent, Now i do not need to do so much explaining and can actually suggest this book for people who are about to receive there warriors, or already have them, In my option it is important to build a relationship with your warriors and to communicate with them often. this book takes nothing away from the God Parents and is a very Good read for those that do not have a clue how to handle them. NEVER spoil your warriors with too much candy and toys, and remember Eleggua is a trickster so only give him half of what ever you promise him until he finishes out what you ask him to do for you.

I bought this book to use with new god kids who want to understand what it means to receive warriors and how to care for them. I wish I had something like this when I received my warriors, I had NO clue! Would recommend this book.
