About the Author
Oswald Chambers (1874-1917) is best known for the classic devotional My Utmost for His Highest. Born in Scotland, Chambers had a teaching and preaching ministry that took him as far the United States and Japan. He died at age forty-three while serving as chaplain to British Commonwealth troops in Egypt during World War I.

Oswald Chambers is unique in that he always challenges your Christian walk in everything he writes. This book is no exception. If you are satisfied with "Your Best Life Now" and 17 Steps To a Better Church Pew"; then stay away from this book it will poison you from ever settling for the trendy and trite best sellers again. You will be challenged to live a holy life based on prayer and obedience to God's word. You will be forced to reevaluate your faith and how you are serving the King of Kings with your time, your words, your pocketbook. Obedient thinking man's book, read it too grow beyond your wildest imagination.

Praise for the Christian Disciplines

This book is a way of looking deeply at the true life of Christ and helping us to live like he did. This book help me to learn and see the breath and preciousness of the fruit of the spirit Self Control. It has brought me into a deeper relationship with Jesus. I have taught these principles in my Sunday School class and have seen the same thing happen in others lives. I highly recommend this book to anyone longing for this type of fruit. It is not a book to be read casually and its principles must be worked. It is not a feel good and lay it down reading. It took me a long time to get through it as I had to process and work the disciplines into my life. SO GLAD I DID!

A Life Changing Study Book

Christian Disciplines is an exceptional book from Oswald Chambers. This is not a quick read book as it is much more. This book is a study book and many Biblical answers to questions which reflect the lives of both Christians and non-Christians how to live by GODLY principles. It is a very thought provoking book which can lead to a life with better understanding how we should live with all of our neighbors and friends if we take the time to study this book. I count this book as a definate addition to anyone's library and who have a thirst for knowledge which can lead to peace.
